NFL Week 8 Thursday Night Football

The Thursday Night of NFL Week 7 marks the start of an intense and thrilling matchday. And what better way to begin than at the Highmark Stadium, where the Buffalo Bills host the reigning NFL champions from the 2020-2021 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The history between these two teams is relatively short, despite having started playing against each other since 1976. There have been only 12 games played, with the Buccaneers securing 8 wins and the Bills clinching 4 victories.

As an interesting fact, this will only be the third game between the two teams with Buffalo as the home team. Additionally, it’s worth noting that Tampa has never won as a visitor against the Bills.

NFL Week 8 Sunday Night Football

Sunday Night arrives in Los Angeles, as the Los Angeles Chargers play host at SoFi Stadium against the Chicago Bears.

The history between these two teams since 1970 consists of 13 matches, with the Bears holding a lead with 7 wins compared to the Chargers’ 6 victories.

A notable detail is that Chicago hasn’t defeated the Chargers as visitors since their 31-20 victory on November 20, 2011.

NFL Week 8 Monday Night Football

Monday Night will close out Week 8 in the motor city. The Ford Field will be the setting for the showdown between the home team, the Lions, and the Raiders.

Despite both teams having more than fifty years of history, their head-to-head matchups are relatively few. Since 1970, when they began competing against each other, they have faced off only 13 times. Out of these 13 games, the Raiders have emerged victorious 7 times, while the Lions have triumphed on 6 occasions.

As an interesting detail, it will be the first time since that distant December 10th, 1990, that they will play a Monday Night game against each other. Coincidentally, just like in this season, the Raiders weren’t in Oakland back then. They were in Los Angeles. By the way, on that day, the Raiders won 38-31 at the now-gone Pontiac Silverdome.

NFL Week 8 FAQs

What are the common betting types for NFL Week 8?

NFL Week 8 offers popular bets like point spread, moneyline, and over/under. Point spread predicts the winning margin, moneyline focuses on the winner, and over/under anticipates the total points scored.

How does the point spread bet work?

Point spread involves handicapping teams; the favorite must win by a set margin, while the underdog can lose by that margin or win outright. Successful bets consider the spread’s impact on the game’s outcome.

Explain the over/under bet in NFL Week 8.

Over/under centers on the total points scored by both teams. Gamblers predict whether the total will be higher (over) or lower (under) than the sportsbook’s projected figure, making this bet all about points scored.
